XR:WA Virtual reality a new Revelation

Revelation Perth International Film Festival
has announced a new virtual reality festival taking place this year as a part of their festival, titled XR:WA. It will take place from July 6 to 14 at venues across Perth and Fremantle.

The festival will present public and industry events that explore virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, computer animations and other forms of screen-based and immersive media.

XR:WA will provide an opportunity for participants to witness the latest innovative technologies, hear from the makers, and have their very own immersive experience including virtual reality headsets.

Minister for Culture and the Arts David Templeman says “XR:WA will showcase the work of Western Australia’s virtual reality pioneers while giving audiences a chance to experience immersive technologies firsthand. “This new festival is a catalyst for social, cultural and economic growth through exciting tourism and job opportunities. The McGowan Government is looking to the future by supporting and capitalising on this rapidly growing industry.”
