NoizeMaschin!! #71 WAModular May Madness is a monthly experimental music concert hosted in the industrial surrounds of the Perth Artifactory. The event has run continuously for the past six years, each event featuring eight artists of varied styles to create a tapestry of rich sounds in a series of short sets.
This month’s show focuses on the fast-growing local modular synthesizer scene. During a performance, the artist will connect modules together live to sculpt new sounds, rhythms, and melodies. The results range from sublime ambient soundscapes to pounding rhythms filled with electronic squelch and filter resonance. Every performance is unique and unrepeatable.
WAModular, a DIY synth enthusiast community fostered by Perth modular synth manufacturer, nonlinearcircuits, have been gathering monthly at the Artifactory to build modules for several years, giving Perth an unexpectedly large concentration of these instruments. This month NoizeMaschin!! showcases some of the machines built by local synthesizer-enthusiasts with a dedicated concert.
NoizeMaschin!! #71 WAModular May Madness will take place at the Perth Artifactory Unit 8, 16 Guthrie Street in Osborne Park on Tuesday, May 30 from 7:30pm till 10pm. Entry is a mere $5 and drinks are also a mere $5. To be apart of the Perth Modular Synth scene check out their Facebook group or head to their website noizemaschin.com.
