New Wu-Tang Release Extremely Limited Edition

wu_logo

Anyone keen to pick up Wu-Tang Clan’s new album wants to have a personal income comparable to the GDP of a small but affluent nation. According to Forbes – where we like to get all our hip hop  news – one and only one copy of The Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, the iconic collective’s  upcoming double album, will ever be released. The price tag is expected to be in the millions and the whole exercise is an attempt to once again equate music with fine art.

To that end, before its sale the album will be toured much like a rare antiquity, utilising venues such as The Tate Modern, where audiences can expect to pay museum exhibition prices to listen, just once, to the project via headphones.

While the possibility exists that a label will spring for the album and release it through conventional channels, it’s also possible that a private collector will succeed in acquiring it, potentially putting it out of the average punter’s reach for good.

More details as they emerge.
