Vampire Academy, the upcoming film adaptation of the uber-popular¬† supernatural romance series by Richelle Mead, hadn’t really pinged on our radar yet, but then this happened:

Yes, that’s Scots synth-poppers, Chvrches, covering Bela Lugosi’s Dead by Bauhaus. Vampire flick aficionados may recall it being used on the soundtrack to 1983’s The Hunger, which starred Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie. This version will be providing background noise for Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) and Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion) – not to mention a slumming Gabriel Byrne and Joely Richardson. Overly territorial goths are already foaming at the mouth – what do you guys think?
